Port Ontario Harbor rests six miles due West outside the Village of Pulaski, NY, on the Eastern seaboard of Lake Ontario in Oswego County. It is considered Central New York. Syracuse is approximately 40 minutes South of the harbor while Watertown is just under 40 minutes North of the site. The City of Oswego and the University is a 20 minute drive West. The city of Rochester is further West, approximately 2 hours from the Port Ontario Harbor.

This area of upstate New York is a magnet for tourism with the Adirondack Park to the Northeast; the Finger Lakes to the South with a growing wine industry. Directly North of the harbor is the Thousand Islands, once a fashionable retreat in the 19th century with high end Victorian to Modern- Day homes dotted on the islands in the Saint Lawrence River and a tourist stop today. The Thousand Islands is approximately 1 1/2 hours north by vehicle or it can be reached directly from the site by boat.
